For the last several years I have dedicated my time and efforts to bringing about a change for Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley Region at an activist level.

Despite my efforts and the efforts of many other concerned citizens, we seem to be getting nothing done on the big issues that face our region. Policy proposals from Atlanta on the economy, education, water and transportation have all but dismissed our vital role to the State’s interest. There is a unique opportunity in the 2010 elections to change how we grow with a New Georgia.

After advocating for many years as a grassroots activist, I have seen a loss of our conservative values and a decline in our region’s role in State politics. Given these circumstances I felt a responsibility to offer myself for public service. And that is why I stand before you today as a candidate for State Senate, to see that we move toward solutions to our problems.

The Issues

Economy.  The boom of the 1990s and good fortunes of early 2000s are no longer with us. As a conservative I believe in improving our economy through reducing the tax burden on our citizens and stabilizing the budget through elimination of pork projects. More

Education.  We are blessed in the Lower Chattahoochee Region with wonderful institutions of higher education, but we need to focus on supporting our primary and secondary schools through ensuring local control and stabilizing the budget. More

Transportation.  Under the current administration Columbus has not been a priority in the State Transportation Plan.  In my activist pursuits I have been engaged with State Leaders in changing our role in the current transportation process. More

Water.  Georgia is coming off the heels of the worst drought in the country over the last few years, but the latest crisis exposed Georgia’s weakness in water infrastructure. More

Faith.  After giving my life to Christ, I recognized how important it is that people of faith participate in the public square. That is what called me to help author the resolution supporting the Personhood Amendment to the Georgia Constitution, which would protect all unborn children in Georgia. More
